Overview
Vytautas Magnus University offers third-cycle studies in 24 scientific fields, including natural, technology, agricultural, humanities, and social sciences. More information can be found here: https://www.vdu.lt/lt/mokslas/doktorantura/informacija-doktorantams/
Depending on the chosen form of doctoral studies, the duration is four years (full-time studies) or six years (part-time studies). There is also an opportunity to obtain a Doctor of Science degree externally by independently preparing a doctoral dissertation or submitting a published scientific monograph and passing doctoral exams.

VMU creates favorable conditions for doctoral students not only to study and deepen theoretical and methodological knowledge in specific scientific directions through various seminars and doctoral schools but also to conduct independent scientific research, participate in internationally significant scientific projects, internships abroad, and teach lectures and lead seminars at VMU and partner universities.
