Functions

Scientific Council of the Research Institute of Natural and Technological Sciences:

  • adopts resolutions on major issues concerning the organization of the activities of the GTMTI and other matters;
  • discusses the establishment, restructuring and/or abolition of structural units of the GTMTI;
  • allocate funds centrally received by the GTMTI;
  • elect assistants, junior researchers and researchers by secret ballot;
  • consider candidates for the posts of Principal Researcher and Senior Research Fellow and submit its opinion to the University Senate;
  • consider candidates for the titles of professor emeritus, honorary doctor and honorary professor, and submit its opinion to the University Senate;
  • elect candidates for the headship of its structural units and forms of organization and submit them to the Rector by secret ballot in a public competition. If the Rector does not approve the nominations, the Council shall submit other nominations;
  • perform other functions laid down in the legislation and the Statutes of the University.
